In the course of my daily reading came across an interesting post from the New Scientist entitled ‘The stuff of dreams’. It gives five examples of fluids with interesting properties, as well as providing videos of the fluids in action.
Two such fascinating examples are liquids that get thicker when stretched, and superfluids (fluids with all of their atoms in the same quantum state), which can crawl up and out of beakers. An interesting diversion for those of you interested in fluids (and let’s face it: who isnt?).
And I found some of the properties of good old H2O interesting. What will science think of next?
