Well it’s been a while since I last posted. I would say I’ve been busy…but I’d be lying. Been perfecting my BF2 infantry game and also doing the odd bit of revision for my exams. But that didn’t stop me having a bit of fun on F.E.A.R. tonight with another Blog poster…It turned out to be a lot more intense and enjoyable than the usual games I play (BF2, CS), even with the chumps.
We started off on a nice little “laggy” server, which was on a map. I dunno the names of the maps, but this one had an outdoor loading bay type area, but mnot a lot of the action was out there. It has industrial and had a couple of large areas with a staricase in each one and the action took place in and around these two areas mainly. At first we were doing not too shabby, then a lot of clan members started to join, and we started losing pretty badly. Just then Bobby had a convenient crash, so I happily took this time to change servers.
I should point out Bobby’s crash may not reflect the stability of the game, his PC seems to crash on other games as well. Another day, another post most likely :P.
Anyways, we found another server and proceeded to do not too badly on the whole. One of the opposing people was suspiciously good with the shotgun, but I let it slid for the msot part. Then the map changed to…a different one. I am usually fine with the map names once I have played them a few times, not played FEAR online enough afraid. Suffice to say the chumps left. It was two on two for a while, me and Bobby generally camped in the one area for the first half of the round then ran around chasing them for the most part for the second. Towards the end of that round one of the forementioned chumps joined the round and started making unbelievable shots with the pistol. But the round ended soon after, us victorious by quite an amount.
The next round was in the office type map. It didn’t start off greatly, the unbelievable shuts were still being made, but eventually that person seemed to disappear, and even though it was 4 on 2, we never say 2 of them for the most part. Turns out the other two were hiding inside the stairwell support wall. After realising this and being sure of it, we shouted a wee bit and called them nasty names you only ever here online, but decided to take the uppoer road and complelety ignore that area. The vast majority of the map was playable, and it was great fun. Eventually we got a third person and the others came out of their hiding place, so it was 4 on 3 for the last 5 minutes . Unfortunately due to being shot by walls, we lost 326 to 335, a close call to say the least.
All in all it was excellent fun, especially the last few rounds. Padawan (said wall hacking pistol touting chump) and Brain (unsure of name, but who cares? Was another wall hacking chump) tarnished it slightly, but thanks to JohnBlack, Kindred and a few others we had a good time.
As an added bonus F.E.A.R. Combat, essentially the Original F.E.A.R. Multiplayer part of the game, is now avaliable as a free download from most good download sites! So you have no excuse not to try it.
Coming soon will be some more online experiences from games such as Battlefield 2, Battlefield 2142, FEAR and any other game I care to be playing between now and the next time I’m obliged to make a post 😀 I will also try and get some screenshots next time, to break up all this nasty looking text…
