Far Cry was, and still is, one of the best looking games to date. The huge outdoor environments and detailed murky indoor ones, set the mood fantasticly well, and made the experience great fun!
An now, Crytek has come up with their next project, the Cry Engine 2, and the game to show it off – Crysis.
The details are sketchy, and the article posted below is in German, which isn’t much good to me, but the screenshots speak for themselves. This is using the new dx10 and all the latest technology avaliable. I am impressed, and I shall keep you updated if anything more comes out about this.
EDIT: Check out the awesome film clip of the effects and technologies they use…it looks pretty darn good.
There have been a couple of updates to the steam programs, both of which look promising.
The first is to do the the Source SDK, and it looks like it fixes a lot of the bugs and crashes that many mod makers were experiencing, so hopefully more mods will come out faster!Read More »Steam updates
Well, it seems we have more proof that the changes to Battlefield 2 in the 1.2 are for real, and that UAVs can (unfortunately) be shot down. Videos released from PlanetBattlefield and BF2.se show the UAV (and other features) in action.
Edit: Kenny found us some video footage of the new unlocks in action
Edit #2: Alpha Test summary from BF2.se

Breaking News! EA have issued quite a lot of information about the so called “Booster packs” and the new 1.2 patch. Most of it looks very promising, especially some of the patch fixes. The Booster packs also look like they are going to add a lot of cool stuff to the game.
Here it is, straight from the horses mouth:
Today we have some big announcements that we’re excited to share with you! First of all, news about 2 new booster packs that will expand the battlefields of Battlefield 2, Battlefield 2: Euro Force and Battlefield 2: Armored Fury. Euro Force will be released on February 8th and sees the introduction of the all-new European Army in 3 new maps. Each Euro soldier will come equipped with a new primary weapon, from the FNP90 to the Benelli Tactical Shotgun. There will also be 4 new vehicles, including the (in)famous Eurofighter. The 3 maps are “Operation Smoke Screenâ€, “The Great Wall of China†and “Taraba Quarryâ€.
Armored Fury will be released on March 28th and the focus is on large mechanized battles, harking back to the El Alamein style maps on BF1942. There will be 3 new maps – “Midnight Sunâ€, “Operation Harvest†and “Operation Road Rage†– but also 2 new vehicle classes. Attack Jets and Recon Helicopters, which can spot nearby enemy units, will make their debut.
Both packs will be available exclusively online at www.downloader.ea.com at $9.99 each (€9.99 in Europe and £5.99 in the UK).
